Cottage of Workforce Development
Opportunities and the tools needed to progress professionally should be readily available for all and supported throughout the entire process of change.
Statistics about the workforce development needs in Ogden:
- Unemployment is at an all time low (2.5%) in Ogden. With the influx in the job market many families are still relying on multiple sources of income to survive. These individuals are prisoners to their low-wage jobs and can’t get out of this hole. They need to stop digging.
- Success in the workplace can be measured by the individual’s ability to improve themselves and their situation consistently. To affect a change in a person starts with that individual’s desire to progress, then gaining an understanding of the workplace and a knowledge of the opportunities available to them.
- Many companies are subletting contract work outside of the state due to the lack of skilled laborers in the community. Often these positions go unfilled because the individual is unaware of the need or availability of training. Funds are available through public and employer resources and often go unclaimed.
